FREE AGENT SIGNING

Knights of Meaford are pleased to announce the signing of four free agents for the upcoming season. Andrew Vardy , Harley Haggarty , Ladislav Soos and Eric Lowry !

Andrew Vardy ( Meaford , Ontario )

Vardy comes to the Knights after spending the last couple of seasons with the Grey Bruce Highlanders AAA. The 1999 born forward put up 8 goals and 8 assists for a total of 16 points in 31 games with the Highlanders last season.

Vardy had this to say about joining the Knights;
“I am excited to get to work and get started. After playing away for the last 3 years I have grown as a hockey player and feel proud to be able to start my junior career in my hometown”

Harley Haggarty ( Slyvan Lake , Alberta )

Haggarty is no stranger to junior hockey, having spent the last 3 seasons split between the Wichita Thunder, Arizona Red Hawks and San Diego Sabers in the Western States Hockey League. Over his junior career he finished his WSHL career with the 2nd most fights in league history(27). Known for his enforcer presence and strong leadership, Haggarty will be a fan favourite on and off the ice.

“I’m really excited for next season, we’re going to be playing for nothing short of a league championship, I’m excited to be there because I know the potential of our players and our team and we are going to set a high bench mark for the league to follow. ”

Ladislav Soos ( Bratislava , Slovakia )

Slovakian native Ladislav Soos spent the last couple seasons with the HC Slovan Bratislava in the Slovakian U18 League. The speedy forward will be a huge asset to our already stellar forward core.

” I am really excited ! It will be my first year in Meaford, also in Canada, but I’m ready for everything. I believe that we will have a great hard working team .I’ve always had big goals so I hope that we can make the fans proud ! ”

Eric Lowry ( Gap , Pennsylvania )

Lowry comes to us after spending the last few seasons with the Central Penn Panthers of the MJHL. Last year he recorded 18 goals and 15 assists for a total of 33 points in 35 games. His strength ,  work ethic , and leadership will make him an asset to our organization.

“I’m very excited to become a Knight and taking a new step in my junior hockey career. I can not wait to get things started in Meaford”
